WIP Wednesday: Pebble the Gnome...
So this time I laid out my colors in advance hoping "Pebble" from A Donsy of Gnomes would appear. These colors seemed appropriate for a crystal gardener.
This time I made his arms a bit longer, though I think they could be longer still.
And that's it for my gnome felting for the moment. I'm on to sew some wool squirrels for the "Brother Acorn" story now. Should be a fun year of storytelling!

I love your gnomes! I just learned how to needle felt actually, but I have not attempted to make faces just yet. I hope I'll be able to make gnomes and fairies, but I still need to practice easier things first I think. You make this look so easy!
ReplyDeleteOn another note, I've been loving to see your pins on Pinterest, you always pin the neatest things :)
Oh, the dear little fellow... clearly you a "gnack for gnomes!"
ReplyDeleteI am loving these gnomes! I bought the book yesterday too. :)
ReplyDeletePerfect! I think the proportions are just right! I am using Brother Acorn in our kindy ;-) Can't wait to see the squirrels now.
ReplyDeleteThanks all! Tanya, I bought this pattern here. http://www.beardancecrafts.com/poppedijn_kits.htm for the squirrels, just $5. Scroll down a bit. Can't wait to craft them! I want to use some upcycled sweater felt I have.

This one is even better! What kind of wool are you using? I really like the rougher structure compared to Corriedale that they sell everywhere.
ReplyDeletehes gorgeous too! I have a feeling your son is going to have a fun school year:)
ReplyDeleteHello; that's truly the sweetest gnome, or 'nisse' as we call them, I have ever seen. So much personality!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
Lilli
I just can't get over the sweetness of your gnomes! They are so amazing. I make gnomes, too, but yours are just on *another level.* So beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! Julie, I'm using Peace fleece that I bought in a rainbow pack at Cedar Ring Circle Co-op. http://stores.cedarringcircle.com/-strse-892/Batting-Rainbow-Pack-%2821/Detail.bok
ReplyDeleteat $12 a pack! Love that price. It has a great rough texture, rough yet soft too.
Becca
