Great Outdoor Challenge: Some Local Flavor

So, today for our Great Outdoor Challenge we decided to go to the Farmer's Market.  We used to be regulars but since Owen was born we haven't been going as often.  We bought some yummy local honey and fresh baked bread.

We'd like to buy one of these Ristras!

We looked at some local plants and cacti & bought Michael's favorite treat, Kettle Corn.

Michael had fun rolling

and looking for four leaf clovers.

Owen loved this tree. He kept feeling the bark and looking up at it.

Owen's view.

And we went to our favorite used book store for story time.  We scored, finding a hard back Frederick's Fables, A Treasury of 16 Favorite Leo Lionni Stories.  We LOVE this author! If you remember our frogs Jessica & August inspired by a favorite Lionni book, "An Extraordinary Egg".

A fun Saturday!

  2. What a beauiful day. I can't wait until until the farmer's markets open here in Minneapolis. Not until June!

I like how you included your little guy's view of the tree. Too cute :)

  3. Owen is a natural tree hugger! That is so cute Becca! This is a perfect way to spend outdoor time. Those cactus are gorgeous.

  4. I almost wrote something about him being a tree hugger- he he. We are lucky here to have a year round Farmer's Market- often more crafts in the winter but still fun to go to.
