Shop Update: Birthday Royalty!
A week ago my toddler wanted desperately to play with our King Equals. We use him to work on Math so I didn't want to lose him. I took him away with a promise to make him his very own king. This fully satisfied him and so after school I set to work on a large peg doll king. My son Michael, of course, wanted a king too so I made one for him as well. In the process of working on them I thought of an idea! A Birthday King...and Queen... Birthday royalty! I could make them for my shop! (Please excuse this blatant self-promotion, I'm super excited about these little dolls.)
So, here are the new Birthday Royalty line of dolls at MamaWestWind.
My thought is that the doll would become a special Birthday time doll. It can be given to the child as a special present and a start of a new tradition. At the beginning of the Birthday month, Birthday King or Queen could appear on your Waldorf nature table or a special Birthday display. Let your child spot him himself. It can be a signal to the small child that a birthday is celebrated during the month. His own or that of a sibling's or Mom or Dad's even. Of course the doll can also be a special play mate as well. (For the older child who will not mouth toys.) The above blue "M" King (or Queen) is already wood burned with an initial to show you how it would look. The yellow doll in the center can be personalized with your child's initial on her bodice or back. The orange doll to the left can fit an initial on the back.
Each doll is lovingly hand-sewn and/ or needle felted & beaded in beautiful detail. They are painted with AP certified watercolor (Stockmar) & wood-burned. These are large sized peg dolls, with crown about 4 inches tall.
I can also make special "theme" type Birthday dolls. This lady bug might signal a summertime Birthday or be given to a little girl that loves lady bugs. Maybe a lady bug themed Birthday party is in order? I'm working on a few more "themed" dolls that I will list soon. If you have any ideas for other themed dolls I would love to hear them. Also, if you would like a custom doll please contact me and I will do my best to create your perfectly suited Birthday King or Queen. Or if you have a special Birthday crown, send me a picture and I can create a Birthday doll to match. To adopt one of the dolls above visit my shop, MamaWestWind. Please convo me with questions or custom orders.
So, what do you think friends? I would love to hear your thoughts.
Until next time...
