These orange and red silks we bought from Beneath the Rowan Tree.
Recently, I read a blog post about different ways of playing with play silks at Beneath the Rowan Tree, here. She sells these beautiful silks at her etsy store, of the same name. Check out her FB page, throughout May she's giving away a silk a day! She suggests bundling a play silk and tying another around it to make a ball with a tail. We tried this and the boys were having a blast with them! Then I wondered what it would be like to tie the play silks around the wool balls that I had made the boys this past Christmas.
Well, those babies fly! It's so fun to see them go!
Michael decided they looked like fire bombs and we proceeded to fight some pesky trolls that were hanging about the house. I'm not sure how Waldorf that game is, a bit violent, but hey we were using our imaginations and getting some exercise!
They were so beautiful soaring through the air. I tried to contain them to the entry and the area of the living room with few breakables. I don't have very many breakables anyway, and when I do I always manage to break them!
Until next time...

i really love it! you have a lovely blog. what a great job on the ball you did!!
