A view of the fields and mountains on our way home.
What a beautiful day we had today. We went to visit our friends, Amanda (my midwife with Owen), who has a son that Michael adores. They moved out to a spacious house in a pecan orchard. The boys and her little girl had the best time playing tractors in the dirt and mud. We met their chickens & curious Owen kept crawling again and again to the chicken coop. I wish I had taken pictures of their fun but I was busy enjoying catching up with my sweet friend.
She made the most beautiful & yummy lunch! A spinach frittata (with greens from her garden), spelt & flax seed bread and homemade yogurt cheese with fresh garlic & basil!
Look at that lovely homemade goodness! We ate the bread topped with the yogurt cheese and drizzled with honey, it was divine. Ode to homemade cheese! She has inspired me to try my hand at it.
The way home was through orchards of pecan trees. Beautiful.
We just had to stop and take some pictures. Michael had fun throwing a few old pecans in the full irrigation ditch.
Just a quick stop and then off we went, "home again, home again, jiggety, jig" as Gramma always says.
Thank you Amanda and family for a lovely day!

That first pic looks like a postcard. What beautiful mountains.
