Searching for Butterflies: Great Outdoor Challenge: Day 4

I am so enjoying this challenge!  It gives us the perfect excuse to get outside more often.  Though I haven't been able to post or photograph everyday, we are getting outside everyday.  I've also noticed we are much more at peace in our daily rhythm after a good adventure outside.

Yesterday Michael and his buddy had the best time observing a caterpillar they found (didn't have my camera, so no pics).  So, today I suggested we go and look for butterflies with his butterfly net.

So we walked to the desert on our search.  We saw two large yellow butterflies (Tiger Swallowtails if I correctly identified them)  but they were way too fast for us. They flew high and fast like birds.

We did spot these honey bees on the Rosemary and lots of Quail about.  The Quail have such a distinctive and beautiful call.  We haven't seen any babies yet this season.  Often we see Quail with many, many little ones following behind all in a row.  So cute!

See you again tomorrow.
