Over the years I've written a few posts on Valentine's Day & we've made lots of Valentine inspired projects too. Here are a few of my favorites. The above post entitled, "Mama Guilt & the Waldorf Police", wasn't exactly about Valentine's Day but a few of our projects were talked about, including these toilet paper roll heart shaped candles.
Last year I made these fun Valentine Spool Dolls.
This year I've been busy making these sweet, Valentine gnomes, bears and
mice and we haven't yet done any projects for our home yet. I think we
need some more heart shaped candles & maybe some Valentine sugar
cookies!
Your creations are so sweet. I already made a needle felted heart bunting for the nature table. The kids and I plan to make beeswax and EO salve for daddy.
So in celebration of one of my favorite holidays, I would love to giveaway this little bear.
To enter this giveaway you must be a follower of this blog and please tell me what you plan to do or make with (or for) your littles this year to celebrate Valentine's Day. For a second chance to win please share this giveaway and come back and tell me how you shared, via facebook, twitter, pinterest, blog, tell a friend, etc. & that's it!
If you so desire please visit my shop, MamaWestWind on etsy. I still have a few more of the above Valentine items to sell. Also "like" my MamaWestWind page on facebook.
Thank you friends! Until next time...

ReplyDeleteBecca this little bear stole my heart the first time I saw him! He's sooooooo sweet!
ReplyDeleteWe aren't doing much this year for Valentine's Day. We are in downsizing mode at the moment which makes making things hard to do when you are thinking about reducing, reducing, reducing! For the first time ever I BOUGHT Valentine cards for the kids to give to their friends even though I vowed that we would always make them ourselves! It feels odd but I have still decorated our home with our collection of child handmades from previous years!
Happy Valentine's Day Becca!

Ooh! How lovely, thanks for the chance to win. I try to make each day here magical in some way, and on the holidays I tend to go "all out.." nothing expensive or crazy just little things throughout the day that bring a smile. On Valentines day we have heart shaped meals - it could be heart pancakes for breakfast or heart tea sandwiches for lunch. This year we are hosting a tea party for friends with handmade Valentines, and when the kids wake up there's a basket each of goodies for them. A sweet, a needle felted friend..simple beautiful things.
ReplyDeleteSo deliciously adorable!
ReplyDeletealso I LOVE this blog!

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I'd love to win this little guy! Back in the day...I'd be all over making these! But times have changed for me, now I quilt. But... I have 3 little grand daugters that would love to have one of these and one of them, the oldest age 8 would love to learn to make them. She only uses my sewing machine as no one else can sew, but this is done by hand and I coudl teach her and she could do it at her house! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to follow you via Email if you have that option..but I did follow via Google. I just like to be able to read NOW and not filter through another venue to get to you! I am excited to follow you...I want so much to get back into the handmade little things like you have here. I used to do it....way back in the day...and would love to start again!]
ReplyDeleteCheri, Fabric and Memories
Hi Cheri,
DeleteThanks so much for your kind words! When my son was 6, I made up a little sewing basket for him. I thrifted the basket and put in a little starter sewing kit with some basic sewing projects in it. Things like a felt star wand and a little felt, cloud/ rain ornament, all cut up and ready for him. He loved it! We're still working on his patience for sewing, but he really enjoys it. He settles into it often when we listen to a book on cd. Here's the post, http://chocoeyes.blogspot.com/2011/07/wip-wednesday-michaels-sewing-basket.html
Also your wish is my command. I added a Follow by Email in the side board under sponsors.
Thanks for the idea!
Becca
Wow...thanks so much! A basket like that is perfect. I'll thrift it and find one too! She will love it..her birthday is in March! Thanks!

ReplyDeleteSo inspired by your awesome and incredible creations! Wondering where you got the inspiration to make your very first gnome?
ReplyDeleteThank you! My son, Michael was my inspiration! He is so imaginative and I just loved the idea of making open ended toys for him. He would get so excited every time I made him a toy that I just couldn't stop making them for him. Eventually I had so many ideas I thought I should open a shop. My shop is how we've been able to homeschool. If not for my MamaWestWind business we would never would have had the money for all our books and art supplies. It's been such a fun and rewarding way to fund it!
DeleteAdorable! Thanks for the giveaway. I'm also a follower.
