Owen's Happy Little Rain Storm...
One week until Owen's fourth birthday party and I'm not ready at all! I need to get moving on my Birthday Ring Decorations or we'll have one empty ring. I've been making little lady bugs, honey bees and butterfly birthday ring decorations for my MamaWestWind shop. Since Owen's birthday is at the height of summer any of these would work well in his ring, but looking at them, none of them felt right. I asked myself what was significant about Owen's birth? And then it hit me. The day I had Owen it had been pouring rain all night long. It poured all morning too until he arrived and then the sun came out. This was so significant because we live in the desert and don't often have such rain storms. Often they blow through fairly quickly and are on their way. I can't tell you how soothing it was to have the sound of the rain to accompany me on that long night of labor. Click here to read about Owen's accidentally unassisted home birth.
Anyway, above is the little gnome I came up with for our Owen, a happy little rain storm. I made one more to add to my shop, just in case anyone else had a rain storm baby. Visit him and all the others, here.
If you have a custom idea for your child's Birthday, let me know and I can make something special for you. I was very excited to make a Super Sam, for THE Super Sam last month. (If you know Waldorf Essentials curriculum then you may know who Super Sam is.)
Another Mom asked me to make a Mermaid for her two year old daughter's Birthday Ring.
I'm having too much fun with these little dolls!
Until next time...
