What a fun day we had today! Fun and running over if you know what I mean. I am tired! Here we are all set up for the harvest story from All Year Round. It's such a beautiful story! My boys loved helping me add and mix all the ingredients.
We shaped our Dragon together and then Michael took over decorating duty. Owen and I assisted.
We were loving his tongue and how serpentine he was looking.
But then he rose and chunked out. His tongue now sort of looks like a snout.
We still think he came out pretty fun.
Owen showing me his dragon medallion. My friend spotted these at last year's Renaissance fair and we saved them for Michaelmas. All day I've been enjoying listening to the cute way Owen enunciates the word "medallion". Both of the boys were super excited about them.
And finally our dragon was eaten at our Michaelmas feast! The adults had chilli, the boys had homemade chicken noodle soup. They enjoyed their carrot/ zucchini swords (idea found at Little Acorn Learning). Michael does not like the idea of eating our dragon, he says he's too
cute and he feels like we're eating a baby dragon. We quite like our dragons
around here.
Speaking of Little Acorn Learning, are you entering their Dragon Bread photo contest? They're taking entries until Monday. I love seeing all the beautiful tasty creations and all the smiling children.
I'll be back in a couple of days with some Michaelmas/ Fall projects we worked on this week.
Until next time...

Gorgeous looking dragon!
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Our day was also filled with Dragon bread, little boys in capes with swords defending the house of dragons, and spiced Apple cake. Roasted chicken and root veggies were the feast of the day and the boys stayed up just s bit later than usual to see the harvest moon. I am tired, just as you are, but happy.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing your crafts this week!
We used a piece of red pepper for the tongue, it shrunk up a bit so next time I will use a bigger piece. It's so fun to pull them out of the oven and see how they have turned out!
ReplyDeletevery cool! So beautiful!

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful dragon! Looks more like a work of art than a loaf of bread!
