Spring in the Desert

I just had to share all the colorful blooms we're finding in our neighborhood.  What's blooming in your neck of the woods?

Until next time...

  2. Thank you for sharing your photos, you know I never thought about what Spring would be like in the desert!? I guess I just figured that it is hot all the time so things would always be blooming and Summery. Your flowers are so different than here. Our daffodils have just opened up, the tulips aren't far behind. Most trees are now budding, some are flowering. Things are feeling a little more lush thankfully as I'm getting tired of the bare, "prickly" look of the trees and bushes. The growth of the new leaves makes such a difference, softens everything.
Thanks for making me think about this,
    xoxo

    1. I know. I always thought, before moving here, that the desert was just sand and cacti with not much life at all. But after living here I can feel the seasons. It used to feel like maybe 3 seasons to me. a little chilly, hot & hotter! But now I'm able to senses the seasons. Winter tho w/out much snow is dead & cold like anywhere (tho not as cold as the north). And Spring, tho not as green as other places, is quite colorful with all of the beautiful blossoms. It's fun to see the contrast between here and Eastern or Northern regions in the US.
