Boo!

Lots of Halloween fun going on here today!  Some homemade treats and comfort foods, a little trick or treating and a visit from the Sugar Fairy tonight!

Here's a corner of our nature table. The boys were surprised to see little ghosts had come to visit one morning.  If you remember I had cut many little wooden animals and such last year with my Father-in-law's scroll saw in NY.  I hid all of the unfinished ones away to surprise the boys at various holidays throughout the year.  These little ghosts and a couple more were just waiting to be finished.  Sadly, I think I have one more mushroom, a pine tree and a couple more ghosts left.  I do need my own scroll saw!  Notice the knot in the wood is the little ghosts mouth.  I love making use of those knots!  Here's s link to my woodworking tutorial if you're interested.

Happy Halloween! Until next time...

  1. I really like the idea of a Sugar Fairy! My little one is still too small to go trick or treating, but maybe next year...
What does the Sugar Fairy leave your boys?

And the ghosts are very sweet (erm...scary!) as well!

  5. These are adorable. I also love the toadstools, may I ask what colour you used for the spots? It's so soft looking, doesn't look like white?!

  6. Thanks all! Joey, I made the spots using white watercolor. Because it's watercolor it melts into the red/orange a bit. That's why they're so light.
