WIP Wednesday... banner craze!

I've been working on banners this week.  These are small for over our fireplace and a doorway.  I hand sewed them onto red yarn.

My large banner is still in progress.  I have the hand sewing on it finished.  It will say "Happy Birthday" as soon as I find the H. (?)

Once I start cutting fabric, it's easy to keep going!  These are some banners I've been wanting to make for our patio.  This fabric is beloved and has taken so many different forms in our home throughout the years. At first a bed cover, then curtains, play house scrap fabric with holes, and now a couple of festive banners.  I can't wait to see it take its new form.

I was gifted these fabrics.  There's a blue and brown banner for the boy's playroom, hopefully turning bedroom soon.  A fourth of July banner, the red handkerchief fabric in it is from a pair of old thread bare PJ bottoms.  And the one in the foreground- a sunny Spring or Summer banner.

Banners just say festive don't they!? I especially love the ones for everyday use. It makes every day a celebration!

Until next time...

  4. Thank you!

Not so labor intensive. They're a pretty quick sew, depending on how you make them. The Bday banner I left raw edges, the outdoor banners too. The triangle banners I'll be completely sewing the edges by machine. That takes a little more time, but, I really like that look. I think that style is my favorite.
