Back from snow country!

(Michael, 6yrs old)

We're back home from New York where we were staying with family for six months.   Almost all of my family and my husband's family is there and we had a really fun time being with them.  Celebrating birthdays and holidays, having weekly dinners & sleep overs with cousins were just some of the fun things we were able to do.  Being so far from home here in the Southwest, it was such a gift to get to spend quality and quantity time with family.

 (Owen & I, Owen 18 months)

Of course another major plus of staying in New York was experiencing the seasons!  It's so different from the seasons and weather here in the Southwest.  Owen loved the snow.  He loved making footprints and eating snow.  He loved licking icicles, all of it was a blast for him.  Michael and I did at first.  I tried to appreciate the beauty and have fun in it, I really did.  I loved watching it from inside the house but feeling trapped inside was something I hadn't anticipated.  Needless to say I was glad to leave old man winter behind for the sun!

I had great plans to take the kids out everyday (or at least every few days) and pull them in the sled. However it only happened a handful of times. We did have a family sledding party that was a blast though!  I'll blog about that soon.  In fact I have so much to blog about and so many beautiful pictures.  I'll try to be selective here and just show you highlights.  It feels great to be back here in blogger land.  Until next time...

  1. I've been thinking about you! I totally get that "trapperd" feeling about the deep white stuff. It's fun for the kids once they are a little older, but yes, a tad confining, especially if you are used to the great wide open!
