Hello from the Boonies

Hi all!  It's been so long since I last blogged.  We're at home visiting my family through the holidays and I don't have internet access.  We are well and enjoying our visit.  Michael has begun homeschool and it's been challenging and fun.  Our family is really enjoying the boys.

Funny story.  We live in the boonies with my Mom in beautiful farmland.  The other morning we woke up to growling & moo-ing (yes, growling!) My first thought was a bear as there have been sightings as of late, although not by us.  But then I hear the moo-ing. It was an angry bull who was circling the house and looking into the windows!  No lies!  My Mom went out of the house to shoo him away before she realized it was a bull.  We live so far out in the boonies, sometimes we don't have cell reception and there is no land line yet.  So we couldn't call the farmer to let him know.  My Mom had to leave for work so she said call 911.  So I called. The operator said, "so you say there's an angry bull circling the house and looking into all your windows?"  I could have sworn I heard a snicker before we hung up.  Meanwhile my brother was due to walk up the rode any minute.  He came in the door just as the bull began to walk to the back pasture.  Anyway, 45 minutes later (I'm guessing they had it as a non-emergency call) a police car came.  Meanwhile the bull had wandered elsewhere and my Mom was able to get to the car for work!  Phew!  The hazards of country living!

Michael was so grumpy all that day long.  I told him so and said what is the problem? He said, "because Mom... a bull woke me up!"  I had to laugh at that.

Well, I have so much to blog about but only an hour of computer time at the in-laws house.  Hope to blog soon and show you some pictures.

Until then, so long.
