Great Outdoor Challenge: Time with my Babe

Technically I'm cheating because these are not pictures from today. But, I didn't have my camera,  Oy vey,  today would have been the day to have it!  My husband and Michael had a Daddy/big boy day. So, Owen and I went off to a friend's house to play a game and pick up some beautiful, rich compost for our kiddie pool garden. (More about that another day.)

Owen and I were alone at her house for a short time and we decided to go outside and look at all the beautiful flowers in her yard. Roses, lilacs, tulips, Iris & others I don't know the names of. The shear abundance of all the beauty in that small space had me feeling blissful.  Lilacs have a special place in my heart. Growing up we had giant lilac bushes in front of our house (& still do). Their sweet aroma takes me right back to that lovely, carefree time of childhood.

Owen, 9 months old

Owen had been acting fussy but going outside always does the trick.  He loved looking around, smelling all the flowers and feeling the cool breeze.  He calmed down instantly. Soon he wanted to get down to feel the earth and grass himself and of course try to chase the cat.

Beautiful, quiet moments with my babe.

  1. Oh so beautiful. It is amazing how children get outside and everything is fine again. Guess it shows and reminds us that we are all creatures that need to be back where it is slow, soulful and simple...gorgeous.
Happy days to you lovely mummy..xx
