When Michael was Owen's age I don't think I let him do the exploring that I let Owen. I would have been too afraid he'd put something in his mouth or gasp, get dirty!
Owen played next to me as I planted petunias and not once did he put anything in his mouth. Hmm, do you think there might be a connection there?
