Easter Fun!

On Easter morning Michael and Owen & I cuddled in bed for about ten minutes before Michael exclaimed, "It's Easter!" He went running out of the bedroom! The morning was a blur after that, as you can see in the picture below.

In our family the tradition is for the Easter bunny to hide chocolate foiled eggs around the house.  As a kid I remember seeing through sleepy eyes the house just glittered with the little, shiny, foiled eggs.  The sheer excitement would wake me right up!  How neat to see that excitement in my little one now.  He was so thrilled he didn't know where to go first.

The Easter bunny hid Owen's Easter basket right near the outlet he always goes straight for.  How did he know?

Owen was the first to find his basket.  Oh, my I just couldn't resist this retro Monchichi!  (or the Easter bunny couldn't)  I used to have one and loved it!  I also made him a few play "silks" from cotton.

Michael took a few more minutes to find his basket as the Easter bunny hid his well. His theme was bugs of course!  His favorite thing!  He brought this giant grasshopper to church and was talking to an adult about bugs.  I was so surprised to hear him telling her about the female Earwig.  So cute!

We had homemade cinnamon rolls with our colored Easter eggs and ham.

Michael got this little gift from our dear, sweet neighbors.  Woodland animal gummies.  So, cute!  I took a picture so I could use them as reference for felt toys.

And of course, ham dinner!  This year was the first time I made my Gramma's homemade rolls.  They came out so good and just like I remembered!  We gave Owen the plate for the first time.  He ate so much more when he was feeding himself with both hands!  He kept saying Mmmmm.  Mash potatoes with gravy & corn he likes!

All in all a very fun Easter!  Hope you all had a fun one too!
