Owen is 8 months old!

Owen is 8 months old already! Lately he really wants to be included. On this day he heard Michael and Daddy playing and laughing in the bedroom. I saw him listening and then he got upset and started to fuss. I put him in the playroom to play blocks with the boys and he was ecstatic! He babbled and screamed and got so excited.

Owen is very curious of course. If life gets too routine he gets bored. But he likes his routine too. He doesn't want to nurse or sleep anywhere but in bed. When we come home from somewhere he seems more content. Maybe he's a bit of a homebody like me. At this age Michael wanted to go, go, go. Anywhere was better than here!

Owen has decided to do the monkey face when I take pictures. So this is often the face I get. If you look real close you can see the bottom left tooth that just popped this past week. He's liking his baby food now, especially fruits- peaches, pears & bananas are favorites. Green beans & avocado are not so bad. Peas & ham with gravy are disgusting! We've started to teach him a few signs and this past week was the first time he signed "all done".

He babbles a lot! And his first word, I think I can safely say, was Dada. At first it seemed he didn't know what that meant, but now he does. He also says Mama and nana. Nana means no. Any time he's upset he says nana.

He's usually very content and joyful. He smiles for everyone and is happy to be held by almost anyone.


Owen is forever sucking on his top or bottom lip. It's a favorite pastime since birth. No crawling yet, but he moves around by belly scooting. He often gets in crawling stance and rocks back & forth. Michael has taken to calling him "Bubba".

He is our joy boy!
