Snow!!!!!!!!!!!!

We woke up to snow yesterday! Not a usual occurrence here in the Southwest to say the least. I grew up in snow back east but I have to say I felt a tiny bit, dare I say, put out by it. LOL, (My family back home will be laughing.) When I went out to my car the passenger side doors were frozen so I couldn't get Owen's car seat in. This coupled with the postpartum sense that, everything is hard, (especially getting out the door with an infant) made leaving the house a small feat for Mommy (Grinch)!

However, we did get out of the house and to a friend's house to play. And I'm not complaining at all! Despite my morning grumps. it turned out to be so much fun of course. We loved seeing the desert, mountains and all the houses topped with sparkly, white snow.

Michael and Morgan had a blast playing! I think I remember one other time that it snowed and stuck, when Michael was 3. I got us all bundled up to play in the backyard and he had a great time for a few minutes until my desert born boy declared it was too cold.

Morgan, discovering his breath in the cold air.

But this time was different. Michael and Morgan played for about an hour and a half. They loved forming snow balls and had fun making a pint sized snowman that was mostly snow, with a smidgen of mud, as the snow was quickly melting. It was fun watching them discover it all anew.

Our snow even stuck around until today. Michael came in earlier from outside and said that he was playing with "water flakes". I said, "do you mean snow flakes?". He said "no, water flakes!".

I realized later that he meant icicles. I love my desert boy!

  3. The day I left that comment it snowed over night and lft about two inches, but that has been the most so far, we are having crazy weather, rain high winds about 60 mph thunder storms, then turning to freezing rain tonight, and a possible foot of snow, now dont you miss western NY?
