Happy Halloweening!

Presenting Sapphire the gnome!

And Emerald the gnome!

On Halloween we went to a fantastic outdoor festival. Michael was so excited to get dressed up early.

Mommy, Owen (4 months old) & Michael (4 years old)

Michael has neon teeth in his mouth and is being silly.

They had all sorts of fun activities at the Festival. Including decorate your own gourd, bowling with pumpkins & re purposed soda containers, a small haunted house,

a bean bag toss into this jack o' lantern, live music and more. All the activities cost tickets which were .50 each and the children got a free trade candy treat for participating. It was super fun for the kids!

It all ended however when Michael went to get his face painted. I think he thought she was just going to paint a little picture, but she did his whole face and he really hated how it felt. He was also afraid of it. He wouldn't look in the mirror when we came home to wash it off and he told me "I want to be a nice gnome!" That's my sweet little gnome.

So off we went to a friend's house to be nice gnomes. Our good friends Liam, Morgan & Marial were there. Liam & Morgan were both Bumblebees. Liam an actual bumblebee and Morgan the transformer named Bumblebee. And sweet Marial was a princess.

Monica and her little bumblebee.

Me and my little gnome.

The kids had a blast trick or treating. It reminded me of when I was a kid, remembering the frenzy of excitement! We got many compliments on our costumes.

Buddies Michael and Morgan.

Another fun-filled Halloween!

  2. Awesome gnomes! Man, its like, gnome year! I love that they dressed after a story you told them. That totally sounds like something I would have done when I was little too. Mommy's stories were always the best.

  3. the gnome costumes are awesome! how sweet and tender to want to be a nice gnome... I don't blame him for wanting that yucky face off. it IS scary! I don't understand it when people want to dress little kids up in terrifying costumes. but what do I know.. I've just got four princesses myself.

  4. Love the gnome costumes! The hats are really cute. You should sell a line of those in Etsy next year for Halloween! :)

  6. Oh gosh, how very thrilled I am to find someone else who refers to babies in edible terms! And yours certainly qualify, sweet little guys! My smallest was dressed as a gnome last year...a green gnome, no less! Sweet memories. Lovely writing, thanks for sharing on Melisa's Waldorf list.
